Lancelot Costume (Armour and Excalibur) - Pantomime

I was given the task of creating a set of armour for the character of Lancelot swell as a stage safe Excalibur that the actors could use safely.

Due to a very small budget I decided to repair and repaint preexisting armour and props. This included a set of fibreglass bracers and chest plate, swell as a foam lamp sword.

I painted all the armour silver to keep it uniform, weathering very minimally as the Director wanted a high shine to the pieces. I then created some leather straps, choosing red as an accent colour. I repeated the same red as an accent for Excalibur aswell.

Though simple, these pieces were highly effective for stage use in addition to being budget friendly.

A bonus to this project is the armour was rescued from going to landfill, swell as my leather being reclaimed from furniture. Allowing for sustainable practice for large parts of the project.
